Maybe if your guy was azn you'd get "scientist" "doctor" or "mathematician".
You didn't take Harkness' plasma rifle?? After I got that thing, I used it the rest of the game. It PWNS. Even when there was only like a 20% chance of hitting someone in VATS, I got headshots 70% of the time and more times than not headshots were a one-shot critical.Poseidon wrote:
Okay...The Replicated Man was probably the easiest quest in the game.
I mean sure, it'd have been nice to get the plasma rifle, but there are others. It's not necessary...and I leveled up to 10 and got -gasp- 50 caps instead.
And while we are on the subject of character appearance, did anyone else notice that you can not make him (or her I guess) look badass? I tried for like an hour, but he always looks weak.
I probably still can, right? I'd lose some karma by doing so though, if you know what I mean..Home wrote:

yeah... you need to rely on clothes to make up for thatHome wrote:

yeah that gun is awesome, even with my ~21 energy weapons skillHome wrote:

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
Agreed, I stuck to that plasma rifle even when i had maxed small guns, big guns and energy weapons. (i maxed all my guns lol)
Meh. There's not that much difference between it and the Plasma Rifle (which is apparentely in the Citadel somewhere, I need to go pick it up).
I also need to find myself some Tesla or T51-B Power Armor. The Brotherhood Outcast armor is wearing thin and needs a fuckton of repairs.

I found the plasma rifle near the armory poseidon.
yeah its on the desk in the room before the armoury/shop.
U can find them on enclave troopers anyway.

I need some suggestions. I'm at the part where...Spoiler (highlight to read):
I'm about to go into Vault 87 and I know that in doing so, I pretty much can't do anything except follow the main story line to the end of the game. And even though I've done most of the side quests, I know there's a lot more content in this game that I would be missing out on if I just went into Vault 87 right now. So, I was hoping you guys could give me suggestions on things to see and explore. So far, my list consists of Evergreen Mills, Fort Constantine, Old Olney, the National Guard Depot, and a few Vaults that got marked on my map that I haven't gotten around to checking out yet.
Where else should I go?

You're on the Picking up the Trail quest or whatever? I am as well. Don't do it. Just do sidequests and explore. Although you could always make a new savefile, finish it, and then go back to your old savefile which is pre-entrance to Vault 87 and continue exploring. It's up to you.
I thought you could keep exploring past that point? Or does it cause a bunch of shit to go down and get some towns hostile towards you and other towns just aren't there anymore, etc. ?

As for your suggestion, I'll probably end up doing that eventually. I've invested too much time in this game to not finish it.
According to a friend of mine, at this point the game basically forces you to follow the main story line to the end, after which it goes to credits and you are unable to keep playing the game (from the point of view of having beaten the main story).mtb0minime wrote:

Hmm, I suppose that's true. I've beaten the game before and I remember being able to go around to different places after that point, but I didn't try doing any side-quests or anything.sexecuti0ner wrote:

But the point you're at is a good time to go ahead and finish everything else off. Because once you get that part rolling, it's so easy and tempting to just keep going until the end of the game.
There's ONE point after you go to Vault 87 where you can still do stuff, but after Vault 87 there is a level that you have to do but after that you can keep playing as long as you don't go to a certain place and talk to a certain person. That's how I did it anyways, because after those 2 forced missions and right before the last level, you will have a shitload more experience and some cool equipment/stuff.
For specifics:
Spoiler (highlight to read):
After you do Vault 87, you get captured by the Enclave. After you escape from them, you will have a ton of their weapons and equipment, a lot more XP, and the option to buddy up with Fawkes, who pwns. So that's when I would do the side stuff, because you practically own the wasteland. After those missions, I raped a bunch of deathclaws and killed every one in Paradise Falls, with <5 stimpacks.

Also, am I the only one who doesn't like to buddy up with anyone? I told Dog Meat to piss off because I don't want to have to take care of him and I want to horde all the experience points for myself.
Ya I find that everyone who follows me is a pain in the ass. With Dog Meat I just get him to go off and find me ammo/chems.mtb0minime wrote:

Oh and I killed all of the outcasts and robbed their shit so does that mean no more outcasts? Or will I still find 3 of them wandering around at random places? Lastly who do I see about turning in FINGERS for caps?
The regulators, should be a marker on your map.trex1210 wrote:

I don't either. I haven't met up with Dogmeat yet. Mostly because if he died, I'd go on a fucking rampage.mtb0minime wrote:

I'll probably team up with that BoS chick and definitely Fawkes though.
Im not gonna team up with the paladin cause she takes all the good stuff and you cant get it from here, so its gonna be fawkes for me
Not at all. That's rubbish, just simply don't talk to the woman Lyon's just before the very last q and you can explore as much as you like.sexecuti0ner wrote:

Dream Mod:
-->Iron Sights
-->Weapon Modifications/Upgrades
-->Iron Sights
-->Dual Single-handed guns
-->Additional Weaps including:
-Stockless pump shotgun as a lesser one to the combat shotgun,
-Then an automatic one with a stock like the benelli m4
-Then an automatic one like the Jackhammer
-5.56 Carbine (You know what gun I'm talking about.)
-Desert Eagle
-Colt 45 and UMP45, adding the .45 ACP ammo
-Some high powered sniper rifle
-M79 "Thumper" for explosives experts
-M32-like weapon as a better g launcher also for explosives experts
Some small things/Unlikely-to-ever-happen/I think would be cool
-Fixed front of the 10mm smg so it doesnt look like you have sights 1/4 the size of a penny on the end
-Change the strange large, squarish shape of the 10mm pistol
-Schematics for a motorcycle you could ride through the wasteland
-Some sort of quest where dogmeat suffers some extreme radiation and you can choose to heal his radiation or allow him to turn into a more fierce, mutant-ish dog.
And of course, more armor/quests/areas etc.
Plenty more ideas I'm sure I forgot about but just thought I'd share some cool ideas.

Like this...
^Do want.
I just got this game, so damn confusing in the beginning, I keep running out of ammo. I was trying to find the guy who pays you to nuke Megatron, the journey to find him is very hard...so many enemies.
Is it worth blowing up the town, or should I spend my time elsewhere? I don't know what to do, running around with a 10mm pistol doesn't last very long.
