I didn't see what modification they've done to the engine... I don't think lighter seats and better brake will make this car faster..I hope they put some bigger turbine in it

oh well....

Its all about power to weight, not raw power.

Also, some of these american machines leave me baffed. Their engines are putting out the same BHP as euro cars with an engine half the size. If they spent time working on efficeincy and inproving the power output, their V8s and V12s would be monsters.
The thing is that American engines have so much more room for more power. That GTR is tweaked to the max. Why aren't your 7 liter V12s faster than our little V8s?
Your little V8's aren't especially quick in the main. Look at what BMW/Audi can achieve with the same engine types compared to most V8 using production US cars.

It honestly does leave me in awe how the Japanese can make a 4 seater saloon car do 0-60 in 4ish seconds on a 2l engine, while yank firms need to stick something massive like a 7.2 in to get the same results

Actually I thought it was more to do with torque and revs.

Power =Torque x revs ( simplified version of the equation)

American engines have an abundance of torque but wont rev as high as a Euro car ( say an M3 with a small V8).
Eg. The BMW M3 generates 309kw power from a 4 litre engine, which is impressive, however it generates 400NM torque, therefore relies on high revs to generate power.
Where the Chrysler 300C generates 317kW from a 6L engine, which doesnt seem as impressive, however it generates 569NM torque and doesnt rely on revs for the power.

Two different methods for a similar result. Both have pluses and minuses.

NP; I'll just spend $100k more for a slower, uglier car with a nicer interior.

tbh, when are you going to throw either car around a track.

I'd be very happy owning a 0-60 car with 6.5 seconds, as long as it was nice to drive, looked good and was quality.

Well then you would be in the wrong thread...
