At the begining of the game you have to really conserve your ammo. Once you get going and have a variety of weapons then you shall have plenty. I decided to defuse the Atom Bomb cause I am a good guy and I hate the stuck up pricks at Tenpenny Tower so I killed them all and raided everything.TopHat01 wrote:

I just got this game, so damn confusing in the beginning, I keep running out of ammo. I was trying to find the guy who pays you to nuke Megatron, the journey to find him is very hard...so many enemies.
Is it worth blowing up the town, or should I spend my time elsewhere? I don't know what to do, running around with a 10mm pistol doesn't last very long.
I seem to be stuck at level 20, I gain no XP at all. Is this a glitch or something? Or do I need to go on with the main quest? I am currently on the
"Picking up the Trail" quest and decided to take a break to explore and bringe "JUSTICE" to the wasteland with my duster and lincoln reapeter. Its all about the old west for me.

Broken Steel, scheduled for release in March 2009 and available for the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game, sees the player join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all, and continues the adventure past the main quest. This also will raise the level cap from 20 to 30

^ The thing that sucks about not raising the level cap until the expansion comes out is that once you hit 20, you might as well just stop playing and wait for the expansion before you do anything else. Otherwise you'd be wasting many opportunities at XP (even though there will be plenty more in the expansion I'm sure).
Also, teaming up with the Brotherhood of Steel seems pretty stupid IMO. Sure it was fun for one little bit, but I'm the muthafuckin Lone Wanderer. It's my wasteland to conquer!
Plus it would be fun if your character was evil and instead of teaming up with the Steel, you instead join the Enclave and run around killing everyone else or enslaving them and spreading the Enclave further throughout the land.

Seemed cool at first 'til I realized the Brotherhood is just a bunch of meatheads and the Enclave is a bunch of dicks.mtb0minime wrote:

Has anyone else been to the Dunwich Building? There was some really weird stuff going on in that building. A mysterious book, Alhazred, Ug-Qualtoth, and a story that's sort of similar to the game's main story line. I was reading the wiki about some of it and apparently it vaguely refers to a real life author and some of the books he wrote, but either way, that was one of the creepiest places I've visited so far. Does anyone know what the hell was going on in that place?

I don't think there are any spoilers though. It's just a building and there's no plot lines revealed in his post.
Personally I haven't been there, but I remember the name popping up somewhere. Once I reinstall and start playing again, I'll have to check that out, sounds cool/interesting.

For those who don't know what I'm on about, Abdul Alhazred is the "mad arab who wrote Necronomicon" in Lovecraft's books. Ug-Qualtoth seems to be a new Cthulhu mythology monster and Dunwich just has some horrors.

Found something interesting on the Fallout Wikia:
Concerning the 3rd DLC pack:
Spoiler (highlight to read):
It is confirmed that the player character will still be the Lone Wanderer, even if the "sacrifice" option was taken at the end of Take it Back!.
How the hell..?

Seems like the only DLC pack worth the $10 is the Broken Steel one, simply because of the level cap rise, new perks, and new enemies (as well as more quests past the main one, but they all have that). Tbh I'm not sure if I'd be willing to fork out $10 for going to some Raider town, or fighting in Alaska.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
I know, $10 is pretty cheap, but I'm a broke college student, and right now, that money just doesn't seem worth it, especially if $30 can buy me a whole new game altogether

I actually acquired it when it first came out, played through the main game once, started a new game and did several side quests (but not all of them), and then deleted it all from my harddrive. I wanted to give it a whirl first, see if I'd like it. Turns out I loved it, so I'm gonna buy it soon, along with any DLC (assuming I can spare the moneys).
So, pirate = rent! If it's good then just buy it, they deserve it!
