Motherboard fuck knows what but it's old.
P4 2.53Ghz
Radeon 9600

I downloaded Windows 7 last night and I was thinking, after hearing my little brother bash on about how it is, I'll just back up my stuff, reformat, and install 7.

Is it worth it?

umm, keep whatever you have right now, and if you want, create another partition. don't install just 7.

How many gigs is your HD? If I remember right when I got my key from MS it took like 16gigs

Basically, he's got a fucktonne of shit that I/he has downloaded, that I/he didn't need, because when I/he downloaded it we were noobs. And it's slowing it down, and a format and clean install of W7 would be quicker than the current XP install (not hard really.)

Why doesn't he avoid putting a beta os on his old ass computer all together? it's not like hes gonna get anything out of windows seven on that hardware anyways. Also quick question, does w7 perform better than XP aswell as vista?

In all seriousness, I wouldn't go above XP, Windows 7 will be a dog on a machine like that...and Microsoft doesn't really support it, so if something goes incredibility wrong...
