If it's a gaming computer I would go with the E8400. Q6600 may have 4 cores but the E8400 will still outperform it in games (except maybe FSX, which takes a lot of CPU power).

If you focus is gaming stick to a dual. By the time quads are useful in games that PC will be outdated anyhow.

Only go quad if you do a lot of CPU number crunching

Go with something like
E8400
P5Q
GTX 260 Core 216
cheapest 2x2GB DDR2-1066 with CAS5 or lower
any of these coolers
Samsung Spinpoint F1 or WD drive

he is right about the extra performance from the E8400

I just reckon that it a couple of years you're going to want the optimization of a quad core, which by then, lots of games/programs will have....

It's basically a guess as to how much you will need a quad in 2 years time

CoD4 will run excellent on the machine max suggested (see my sig), I get ~60FPS in COD4 with everything maxed. And I'm on a 9800GT, which isn't "that" great of a card, but runs great none the less.

Hmm thats interesting... i havent tested cod4 on my new card but i get ~90fps in cod5 with everying maxed *(including AA)

yeah i kinda regret getting the antec 900, i get raped by dust and everytime it get filled with dust i have to go to little baby jesus's house and use his air compressor.

Im not sure about my monitor, either 17" or 19".

So i will probably change the case to that other Antec one, big price difference?
