Greetings, once again the tech section of bf2s!
A mighty fine day, indeed.

To the point:
I have recently taken some photos/videos of a bunch of mates and I when we were dicking around (read: blowing up bins). I have however deleted them for reasons unknown, and have had several attempts to recover the videos/images from the SD card.

I can recover the image/video. However, they appear to be corrupted, as it states when opening a picture that 'Cannot draw image' or something. Im more favoured if there was any way to recover/save the corrupted video. When I open it, it gives the message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file"

Now Ive used and watched video captured from this camera before on the WMP that I have (Which is version 11). Upon clicking the 'help' button, I go into the web help, and it states :"You've encountered error message C00D1199 while using Windows Media Player. The following information might help you troubleshoot the issue"
I looked on the net, and in most instances it seems to be an error on Vista. Ive got XP SP3, and all other vids work fine.

The video files are saved as .avi if that helps.
If there is any way to restore corrupted videos (I can manage to recover them, not restore them), then any help in assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Oh, blegh, never properly read through your post,

I'm not totally sure, but I don't think you CAN recover stuff from an SD card,

Like you CAN as you did, but the way they're built or something with how the files get thrown all around, and the SD controllers splitting stuff up, so the resulting recovery is commonly unusable.

Okay. Cheers for that anyway.

But don't take my word on it, I'm just relating my knowledge of teh fact that it's nearly impossible to COMPLETELY 100% remove every file because the SD controller throws the files around, and once they're deleted, it's hard to get access to every block of memory on the card.

I'm just applying that to a recovery POV.

Is it a proper way of looking at it? Probably not, but it seems to be the only solution that anyone's offered

Try playing the file with VLC. It's a long shot but you might get lucky
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
