I've been experiencing some really odd disconnects on my main machine lately. Connections just drop, but can be resumed immediately.

If I want to play BF2, it'll most times just say "Your connection to the server has been lost" immideatly when I try to join. When it finally works, it can drop any time when I'm in-game. Similar disconnects happen a little here and a little there. Torrents, downloads, RS, you name it. I've reinstalled everything except for Windows itself, and even replaced the networks card, but to no avail.

The oddest thing is, that if I reboot, things tend to work nicely for hours and hours on end, but when the computer has been on for a day, perhaps, these disconnects start popping up randomly again.

Any ideas?

Specs are:

MSI K9N SLI (nF 570)
Intel NIC

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Call your isp and complain about these disconnection issues. See if it's something on there own end.

You never know. And chances are they'll upgrade your package for free.

I believe I had this exact same problem.

Do you use Vent? When you disconnect from a server - do you also have a huge lag spike from vent but don't actually DC? The only thing that fixed that issue for me that I can think of is cleaning my CPU/Reseating my RAM and updating my OS. One of those fixed did it.

It may be a BF2 related issue as silly as it sounds, do the other disconnects happen as frequently as when you're playing BF2?

It isn't on the router or ISP side; The line is as stable as always, and my laptop never drops. As for Ventrilo, no, I don't use it.
I doubt it's a BF2-related issue, as it's been 100% wiped and reinstalled, not to mention the fact that it's not the only program affected.

The curse of MSI... must be it...

format

I see no other way around this. If the issue is still there after format the finger points to MSI mobo....

Mate download zone alarm and it will notify you of each and every program trying to use your network and\or act as a server.

You can allow and deny any of them and see if there's something which is dropping out your connection by trail and error.

Freezer, you should alarm your zone.
