The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

And about the song, great song. IMO Rolling Stones is probably one of the top 5 greatest bands of all time.

And about the song, great song. IMO Rolling Stones is probably one of the top 5 greatest bands of all time.

No, I've never seen them live Phish. Nor would I really care to (especially now).
I deleted my post because Frankie put forth his opinion in a thoughtful manner, thus, he did not really deserve my verbal onslaught.
I understand that the Stones were pioneers in the rock genre. I know they are beloved by many, they write catchy hooks, and dominated the sixties and seventies era. However, there are so many other bands much more deserving of accolades from that era. Lynard Skynard, The Experience, the Eagles, the Allman Bros., and Black Sabbath to name a few.
In fact, I like quite a few Stones songs as well. But an overall view of their catalog produces a stunning revelation: they wrote a shit load of terrible songs. I would rather shove a pear up my ass than listen to an entire album (excluding a greatest hits album) from the Stones.
I stand by my original assertion, even though I am aware that I am probably in the minority. The band (along with Led Zepplin to stir the pot even more) is vastly over rated. The Stones were often terrible, good at times, and showcased hints of greatness. But to rate one of their songs, or the band, as in the top five or better is laughable.

Black Sabbath isn't my kind of music, so I won't say anything about them. Skynyrd is a good band, but I don't think they're on the same level as The Stones. ABB is an awesome band, but they've had so many members come and go that it's just not the same as the original. Hell, my dad even played on stage with them once.
Everyone knows that Tenacious D wrote the greatest song in the world anyhow.
I prefer Mother's Little Helper or Under My Thumb.
