I regret having become soo addicted to this buggy ass game...
But I still love it.
Agree with others who have said nothing else quite touches it, the COD's Far Cry's even Team Fortress 2, I have tasted all of them and none has what bf2 has.
I'm amazed that after three plus years, even playing ONE map (on a 24/7 server) the games can have so much variety from one round to the next.
It helps if servers do things like switch sides/ mix up the players -- one game can suck terribly with people sitting around sniping or with no direction or defense...then the next game, you get in a squad where there are comms and coordination, 5-6 guys working on a heavily defended flag, playing the classes needed on the fly, flanking, and overtaking that flag, moving to the next -- and watch those tickets drop for the enemy side until the win is decisive.
Just shows it's not really the maps or game tweaks that matter, the basic ingredients are there, the rest is what the people playing make of it.
