My WD and seagate hard disks all open in a new window when double clicked. And also, their logos in My Computer are now changed to normal hard disk icons. How do i get it back?
hmm i suspect its been hit with some sort of virus. Something to do with autorun.ini.
I shouldn't think so.Ayumiz wrote:

I suspect something weird though. I plug in my hdds. Icons were there. After i restarted my system with the hdd's plugged in. Icons were gone. And now when i double click them, they open in a new window. Weird?liquidat0r wrote:

Its a virus. I just reformatted my pc. Plugged in the external HD that went into my school loan unit. And i get a catastrophic error plus avast warning me about an executable called imo.exe. Fck those school loan units really. If its not because of that, My laptop wouldnt have got all this crap.jamiet757 wrote:
Welcome to the world of computers. Just because something acts weird does not mean there is a virus. Computers do things all by themselves all the time. Just play around with it until you can fix it.Ayumiz wrote:

On the other hand, why does it matter? So what if the logo is a regular hard drive? What is the big deal? And opening in a new window, yeah that can be annoying, but either get used to it, or go to folder options and try to fix it.
Edit: I am now about to try to reformat another time. And its stuck at the recovery page. I cant even reformat now.
