I have a DVD drive and a HDD running via an IDE cable.

If yes, where do I have to set the jumpers?

Thanks in advance.

First device on the IDE cable is set to master, the second to Slave

I think he means the little jumpers not the lead mate.

It should tell you on the HDD and DVD drive on a little label...

the bottom of the drives should have some picture explaining how to set the jumpers for master, slave, and cable select.  make sure your bios settings are also correct.

Well, I got another question.
If I plug in DVD drive and HDD it boots the OS without ask me to boot from CD.
But I want to boot from CD to reinstall windows, so if I boot only with DVD drive and plug in the HDD later the windows setup freezes every time I start it.

Any suggestions?

go into bios and set the boot order

or on the initial load screen you can hit F8 or F12.  I cannot remember right now so do the first.
