Why do English people say Nawr when they try to say No?
That's more like up north. They say it like "noor" instead of "No"

In Scotland, when they don't say "nae" they say "noor" also, I think.

Down here, there is no accent. Cos it's the original version. Everywhere else is an accent
well i say no more like naer

Most accents can have their own charms....

However the Brummie accent is without any redeeming features whatsoever.

I was in the sauna at the gym yesterday, and there were two Brummies talking, and I swear I thought they were speaking another language. The only way I realised they were speaking English was because I happened to catch the odd word.

What's the general consensus in EU or Aus regarding yank accents anyway?

It's probably because it's my own accent (native Californian, which doesn't have any twists or strange ways of pronouncing anything [I think]), but it just seems so boring and neutral (though there is lots of slang).

Who would have thought everybody would be naming their own accent...

I like the sound of a lot of Northern English accents but they're hard to understand for a non-native speaker. Proper RP sounds good as well. American accents are decent, as long as it's not over the top Southern. South African is hilarious, but also quite hard to understand. Australian... don't like it that much, New Zealand English is slightly better. Jamaican, funny but requires a lot of effort to decipher. I'm not too fond of Irish accents but I think a Scottish accent is pretty cool.

There, did I cover all of them?

I like the more neutral American accents, but I can't take anything south of Virginia seriously.

EDIT: Not including California, where they sound less ridiculous.
