Right so I have contemplating and saving to upgrade my comp for a while now, and I do have a pretty good idea of what I want, but just want you guys to give me the thumbs up, to help me justify to myself spending the money
Currently on a 8800 gts 320mb, which I will continue to use for the time being but will probably upgrade in a few months when the budget allows. I also have 2gb of Geil DDR2 6400 ram ready to go (kindly donated by a friend). Also will continue to use my current DVD burner and my Akasa 450W power supply.
So here my list of components being upgraded:
CPU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =CP-192-IN
Mobo: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =MB-293-AS
HD: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =HD-058-SA
Case: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =CA-020-AK

Total £307 inc. Vat

And that is pretty much my budget, I really cant afford to spend much more than that, and am not too interested in overclocking etc, so I think the mobo should do me fine.
So any comments, or possible problems, guys?

never heard of the case manufacturer :-/

but besides the mobo I can't think of anything wrong, not sure what the P5Ql pro is about besides the P43

Yeah with the case, I just wanted something that was relatively cheap, yet still had ok spec/looks and this fitted the bill nicely. Was able to check it out in PC world (where it was priced at £50) and for the price it seems very good, and miles better than my current 8 odd year old piece of crap that came with a pre-build...

WHAT???

You've never head of Akasa???

@OP: I've never used an Akasa case, but they're one of the cheaper-but-reasonably-good manufaturers, and I've like the Akasa products I have used (mostly fans/coolers).

One other thing, coke: dabs.com are usually cheaper, like-for-like, than over-clockers.

(oh, and all the bits look just fine - build according to your budget - you can chase specs for ever)

Yeah that's you can spend for ever, thinking I'll just wait for these new ... to be released, or spend a bit more on this and that, I just wanna upgrade to a decent level for the money I got.
Main reason I'm using overclockers, is they are local to me so I can collect parts and save on postage, and also my money in cash at the mo lol.

Ah...

(the delivery issue is moot, btw - dabs delivery is cheap as chips)

Looks good, good luck with the build.

I'd like to hear how your adventures go with that Akasa case, I've never heard of them myself (I'm still new to this game, though), just in case (lol) I might need to do a build for a friend/family member and need a reasonable case for a reasonable price.

From the reviews I read about the case it's good value. Nice build quality, 2 120mm fans included etc. only downside I've heard mentioned has been some people have had some gripes with the optical drive cover. I'll update this thread when I do build.

Just to update went and got my parts this afternoon, and I sit here typing to you on my new and improved system
Build went nice and easy, only slight problems were, a little trouble with seating my GFX card and removing one of the pci panels to fit my sound card (bloody thing wouldn't come out at first and I cut my hand a bit).
As for the case, can't really have any complaints apart from the above, fans are nice and quiet and the build quality is really quite good, for a budget case I'd happily recommend it.
Just getting all my games reinstalled can't wait

I have the case. I don't like it. I seem to be in the minority though.
