Well as my new build has been pushed back AGAIN (Driving lessons, Car, etc...), my current build is really starting to show it ain't keeping up.
I currently have 2x 7600GT's in SLI. It performs alright, plays every game I want it to play at ok settings, but I've been getting BSOD's, NV4_Disp errors and they're getting quite hotter than normal (90C when I checked after playing BF2 for a bit).
Now, I want a new card basically, but it will only be a temporary card until I manage to get my final build later this year. I would get the card I want for that build now, but I am to get the best at the time.
So, naturally I thought "NVIDIA", as if I get an 8 or 9 series and above, I can go all Physx and stuff later on.
My budget is between £70 - £100. I really don't wanna spend that much right now, but I can stretch.
I've seen this 9600GT for £74 which I think is pretty solid for the price. I don't know anything a bout ATI below the HD4 series, so I'm not sure if I should go with one of the earlier ones.
Benchmarks for the 9600GT tell me it's alright, better (in some cases) than a HD3870, worse than an 8800GT though.
My current specs are E4400 @ 3.11Ghz, Gigabyte DS4L SLI, 4GB OCZ Platinum, 460W Zalman PSU, no brand monitor @ 19" 1280 x 1024 max res.
So, any ideas? Cheers.
