Im getting a 10mb connection, well you know that from the title, I cant wait! This will be an improvement from my 2mb connection and I was wandering how this will effect server speed? I was wandering how long its takes to join for a T1-T3 connection. So far it takes me a pretty long 50 seconds average.
T1- less than 15 seconds.... Great for caping the first flag before most people select their kit!

i got an 8mb connection just now and you will maybe notice a slight difference in ping, but not much.
and even though your service provider says 10mb, i recon you will not get even close to that. these service providers will say "up to" 10mb, when they know that your line quality sucks, there are loads of people using the same line, and you will only get the bog standard 2mb - 4mb

this isnt just dependant on the speed of the connection, if the guy doesnt have 1gb ram, then someone with a 1mb connection and 2gb ram will still spawn before him.

My ISP is NTL, they are ok since we are long time customers and the the price and service is decent, they treat newcomers rubbish thoe. If we go at 2mb-4mb average then we can just cancel it.
Loadtime has nothing to do with your bandwidth..
Notice how you load as fast in multiplayer as you do in single player. There might be gains here and there, but it comes down to RAM and HDD read speeds.

you can have 1,000MB connenction and i can still get in before you, my 4 GB insures that i get the first 2 flags neutral before people come in. connectin helps on ping mostly, thats all i know

it amazes me how dumb some ppl are and then i become dumbfounded when they try to spread there amazing knowledge.
I know It doesnt effect load speed I didnt mean that. It effects verification at the end im sure of it.
the goonies is one of the best all time movies in my oppinion. people of my generation get soo much out of that movie. the fact that when u watch the movie, it just reminds u of being a young whipper snapper taking a sick day off school and watching it on video, or watching it over the festive periods!!!stryyker wrote:
