So, I was helping one of my friends start to play CoD4 tonight with another friend (hereafter referred to as FriendA), and we were discussing key bindings. He mentioned how he uses CTRL for his crouch, and I told him how I prefer "C" because you can't easily hit control. Then he dropped the bombshell that was most shocking to me: our hands are in different places when playing FPS.
His setup: he uses the middle finger for W, index and ring for D and A, and pinky for CTRL.
Me: I use ring finger on W, pinky on A, index somewhere around F, and middle finger on D/E.
I like my setup because all of my hands are on keys used in FPS. I can easily move to hit anywhere, but I feel his setup wastes motion in that you can easily accidently hit shift and keys that aren't especially useful. This whole ordeal made me curious, what do you do?
EDIT: Trying this wierd-ass new-jack stuff again that apparently everyone does, it takes you a bit too far from the middle of the keyboard for my liking.
