Ripping DVDs

I am trying to rip DVDs of a show onto my computer, and then break it into the individuals episodes so that I can put them on my phone. I have ripped the entire DVD using DVDFab, but I think the .vob files are broken up in arbitrary places to keep people from doing this. For example if I play the first one it will go through the entire first episode just fine, but if I run the second .vob file it will start in the middle of the episode, then the third file starts in the middle of the second episode, things like that.

I think I am just being a noob about it, so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great...

As far as the legality of it I bought the DVDs, and as far as I know and am concerned ripping it so I can get it on my phone is fine. If someone can prove to me why it isn't I'll close.

hmm...i use DVDFab too, but i then use InfraRecorder to make a DVD image file and burn it with ImgBurn. i know you want them as episodes, but if you can stand for the entire DVD as a whole, handbrake will do it.

Just download the show, tbh. Chances are it would be faster and easier in the long run.

I use DVD Shrink, and I've had no problem ripping individual episodes of shows like Arrested Development, Extras, and The Office. In those cases, each episode was a different Title #. But I guess if your DVD is broken up with the titles, then I don't really think there's anything you can do.

This would be easiest. Otherwise, you would have to rip the DVD to one big AVI file and then somehow cut it up into individual episodes. Ripping to AVI isn't so bad, but breaking the file into separate episodes would be a major pain in the ass, if it's even possible.

Shit DVD Shrink is win. It does exactly what I want, and it sees all the episodes just fine. Thank you very much.
