Hey guys,

I've been making a few walkthroughs and videos of COD5 and Brothers in Arms. I made another walkthrough of BIA today, and added the music "These Walls" by Trapt. Now my Youtube audio cannot be heard and they say that the people can press charges.

I always put music in my videos and I've never had problems, I write in the credits who the song belongs too and usually in the description too.

What do I do wrong? Help please

Some gay company has forced YouTube to remove all the music videos they own the copyright for. You can't upload anything that contains copyrighted music.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

You see, they have these things called "Employees". And they're humans. And what they do is they surf youtube and find a video with  music. This is the clever part, once the find such a movie, they listen to the sound and check if its copywrited. And lo and behold, if it is, they'll remove it.

It's basically just Nazi record companies being all OMG PPL CAN'T LISTEN TO OUR MUSIC ON J00TUBE AT 64KBPS WE'RE LOSING MONIES and then threatening to sue youtube (the threatening bit has been going on for years, youtube have only actually started doing anything now), so youtube has been forced to presumably write sofware that reads the audio in all uploaded videos, and compares it to a list of the music that the record company doesn't want on the internet, and if it finds a match between your audio and the record company's song, it'll send you that copypasta saying "hurr we're gonna take you to court" that you got.

Basically, record companies being complete money-grabbing faggots. As usual...

assasinate the high level record company employees

(it's probably the most likely thing to work, nojokes)

Or alternatively find out which record company is QQing to youtube, and use music that isn't from that/those record company/companies

Why doesn't YouTube just show two videos on the same page:

Video 1: Yours with your own sound (no soundtrack added)

Video 2: below with the one from the YouTube channel of the artist you like (the artist's/record label's copyrighted video)

The pay bars are sync'd so when you press pause in Video 1 it pauses Video 2.

Heck, with Javascript you could sync the two video or string multiple videos together for a play list to play at certain times in Video 1 (i.e. Video 3 plays immediately after Video 2)

You'll just have to do an Audio Swap. I had to do it for a couple of mine. They've got a small selection of shitty artists (only good one who's also recognizable I've found was Nine Inch Nails) and you select a song and they play that over your video. I had a couple videos of custom guitar hero songs, so I just threw over classical and jazz music to piss people off and told them to just download the song and press play at a certain time and watch the video along with it.

I got that a while back. You need to check the email account that you used to register your youtube account, and there should be an email stating what's happened. If you put credits in it, they may or may not be able to press charges. You see, you're not making any money off their music. But you don't have written permission. So what you could do is write a letter to Trapt asking them if you can use their song--and tell them you've got it in the credits. If you get a positive answer (which you should--all bands like exposure), you're set to challenge youtube and the recording company.

Otherwise, just email youtube saying that you have every right to put a song there until the record company specifically tells you not to.
I like pie.

Funny how Google Video was forgotten, yet people can upload full films to it, and no company gives a flying fuck about it, but if a home-user uploads their favorite song to their video, they should die and have their YouTube account revoked.

The Internet is weird.

Wow I didn't know it was that big a deal. Find somewhere else to host if you don't like their rules.

Thought about looking at the front page?
