The GOP will only ever overtake the DNC if it does a few things;

1) Ditch the Fundamentalists.  They make the GOP completely intolerable to the coastal states, and tend to even scare off the moderates in middle America.

2) Ditch the Neo-Con ideology.  Big Taxes, Big Spending, Big Business, Intrusive government - it's the worst of both worlds.  Real Democrats hate Big Business, Real Conservatives hate big taxes, big spending, and intrusion into personal liberties.

3) Stop being the party of Finger-Pointing and the Blame Game.  The Democrats are better at it, have years more experience, and can come off sounding almost heart-felt..  almost.   START being the party of "Getting Shit Done NOW - Assigning blame later".  In other words, grow the fuck up and act like MEN, not a bunch of whiny metrosexual pussies.

Until the GOP does at least those three things, they are going to continue to get their asses handed to them by whichever "Oprah's Politician of the Month Club" member the Democrats feel like putting into play.

Well this was disappointing.

I made the thread in a hope to bait out anti affirmative action folk who blame liberals and democrats for affirmative action. So I could have a future reference if ever a debate about affirmative action came into play and those anti AA folks would have to explain why it was ok for the GOP to do it but not the Democrats or anyone else.

I'm pretty disappointed, I really am.

It is kind of sad that the GOP does seem to be overcompensating for Saltzman's idiocy, but then again, Steele being a moderate isn't a bad thing.

Although, I will say that rdx seems to have the right idea about fixing the GOP.  They need to return to their Libertarian roots.
