Hi after searching the forums a bit i was just wondering if anyone has some tips on keeping your server running. Lately our server doesn't get enough players to stay long enough to start a game. I read Echo's tips on getting a game started (thanx fot that BTW) but most of them we use. We've tried several things (e.g. like turning VOIP on (we use TS for clanmembers), only popular maps like Karkand, wake and kubra in the cycle). Hell we even changed our server name to see if that would help. I'd expect other people running a ranked server experienced the same problem at a certain point and i wonder what they did to solve the problem. Any tips?
our clan has to buy a service from our hoster (25$ per month) that advertises for players to come onto the server. so far its been pretty much full @ certain hours.
Basically, bf2 players download this program from the hoster that records how much time you play bf2 on specific servers. if you play 15 hours a month (or something like that) on the servers, then you get entered in a lottery to win prizes and money.
we pay 25 $ to have our server on that list. now we get more players.
