since i play exclusively spec ops..( my favorite class of the game) i usually work alone and make my own squad and lock it.. except if my best friend is on the same team as i am.. i do it for the following reasons

1) i normally work alone like a sniper.. that is the bottom line.. although there are some good people( my hats off to you).. i am tired of all these smacktards not giving me any help when i need it.. I trust one person when i play...MYSELF
2) spec ops or sniper.. must work in small teams to go unnoticed.  Stealth is the name of the game.

i only squad up if i play medic , support, or engineer...

if i got $100 for every time i asked for ammo or health and did not get it..i would be a rich man..

You sound a lot like me. I bet you smash the crap out of your keyboard in a suicidal rage when you don't get revived after you die as well; when you're a solo squad leader.

Teaming up = points, it's basic math. I used to be the lone wolf/solo squad leader and do my own thing to try and get the gold medals, but playing in a squad with a few people, beit whoring hotel on karkand or flag-hopping, gets you more points, more kills, and less deaths.

It's a win-win.

The biggest problem with your strategy is when you're in a large server and the max number of squads has been reached.  You're sitting there with your locked, 1 person squad while other players would really like to be able to use teamwork to accomplish something.  You know what would help you out?  A support guy in your squad.  Otherwise you can only take out 2 commander assets before you run out of ammo.
I don't wanna be a jerk, but a squad of 1 person doesn't help anyone out.

I'd just like to point out that it's also a commanders worst nightmare. Not only is it annoying to have to command 4 or so seperate 1 man squads to complete an objective, but these "rogue" players tend to either ignore, or refuse the orders.

Nothing more annoying that having someone in an APC or a Vodnik who is near a point thats being capped to ignore your spots and orders and head back to the front line just to get a few extra kills.

I hate idiots that make 1 man locked squads.  Usually they sit at the most important enemy base that, if captured, could totally turn the game around.  The only time I would advocate the use of 1man squads is if you are playing armor and don't want smacktards to spawn on you, get tked, and punish.
