Under UK tax rules, most traditional bakery products such as bread, cakes and flapjacks are free of VAT, but the tax is payable on cereal bars, shortbread and partly-coated or wholly-coated biscuits.
A 13 year battle over weather it is a coated biscuit or a cake Makes me laugh.

In Norway we have 12% tax on things you can eat (quite a funny debate when first announced) and 25% tax on other products ...

It's about the principle of being taxed on something that you shouldn't have (or was it the other way round didn't really read the article properly)
