A Baltimore woman said when she ordered an iced tea at a local McDonald's restaurant last year, employees gave her a cup containing a cleaning chemical. Caryl Jones has filed a $100,000 lawsuit in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

The lawsuit alleges negligence and breach of warranty. Jones' attorney, Patricia Steiger, said the cup contained a sanitizer used on kitchen equipment.

Steiger said Jones immediately spat out the liquid when it burned her mouth but was found by doctors to have suffered "a mild or moderate chemical reaction."

Franchise owner Cynthia Brown declined comment on the lawsuit. In a statement e-mailed through a McDonald's spokeswoman, Brown said the matter was being taken seriously.

hmm sure did take her a long time to file the suit not sure if it usually takes this long to file a lawsuit against someone I could say  oh yeah I went at this place X and got some hamburger Z and some shit happened to me but I guess she has doctors records to back her up what do u guys think?
What is she gonna use as evidence?
How is she gonna prove what really happened, did really take place ?

i think she will fail, unless she got the drink tested, or the medical records can prove exactly what it was?

Unless she got the drink tested, she has shit all for evidence. Even if she does test the drink, she still has shit all for evidence.

If she got chemical cleaner in her drink, that means it was in the machine, which means everyone got it, which is impossible. If it was one where they fill the drinks for you, then it means she must of been a total bitch to the workers and they tried to fuck with her.

The last time I checked most chemical cleaners have a strong and distinctive smell to it.

I smelt ammonia once, clear sinuses for a week.

So you open the lid to your drink and sniff it before you drink it?

Ammonia and other cleaners have a pretty strong smell.

Whatever happened, it's a small case, and McDonald's could just claim that she sabotaged her own drink to justify a lawsuit.

Or she might get a settlement just to stop wasting the corporation's time.

Kind of reminds me when I gave my friend a shot of dishwashing liquid and told him it was Absinthe.

Chemistry lessons in year 12 + concentrated ammonia + we sniff it = laughing fit for half an hour.... fucking hilarious

Probably the most fun time I had at school (so far anyway)
