A Massachusetts man said he is using technology to combat his family's debt by auctioning his $22,000 credit card debt on eBay.

The 29-year-old Milford man wrote on the eBay posting that he and his 26-year-old wife both recently lost their jobs and missed a mortgage payment on their town home, WCVB-TV, Boston, reported Wednesday.

The man said he is hoping for 2,500 eBay users to each bid $10 to help reduce the debt. He said each bidder will receive a photo of the couple with their 2-year-old daughter and a thank you card.

"This is a very humbling time for me, and I'm looking to do everything I can to support my family," wrote the man, who uses the eBay name speedwerx.

People are angry enough at government bailouts.  I'd tell him to eat a dick and stop using credit cards.

Nah, that only works for the Big Boys.

Because I'm sure he'd find a job in the couple of minutes it took to set up this ebay auction.

I fail to see how getting 2,500 people to bid $10 will get him anywhere; it'd just end up with one person paying the $25,000 or whatever and nobody else paying anything

They mean that they will have 2,500 separate auctions @ $10 rite? Either that or his lack of understanding of anything is so great it's probably why he has a huge debt and no job... This guy needs to l2ebay

Couldn't he just put 2500 available on the same item that would be costing $10?

That would require it to be a "buy it now" item, so it's not really bidding, and is also a viable solution, but then whoever published the story is wrong Infact, having a quantity of 2500 as a "buy it now" sale would probably be the best way to do it.

However, then it's not an auction, so the story is a lie!
