So I have to write a paper, on "What I believe in"

It was due like last week, and my teacher wanted to go over it and I said, "Oh, I emailed that to you last week..." and she replied, "Really?? Well I didnt get it..." to which I replied, "Yeah, I sent it :\" and then she was like, "Well, just print it off for me tomorrow and bring it in, okay?"

So now I have to write this paper, but again, I cant think of a topic for What I Believe In...

I mean it probably will have to be an idealism... but I still cant think of anything that I can elaborate on, and give examples of and motivate people or what not...

It gets to be pretty short, 500 words or less... So its not like im writing a huge essay or anything... I just need an idea!

Any suggestions (serious) will be greatly appreciated :\

Use "yourself" as the topic.  The paper should essentially write itself.  Use examples of times you did well when you thought you'd do poorly...and goals you're setting for yourself for the future.

Dude what you've been given is a prime example of a bullshit topic. You have free reign to write about whatever the fuck you want, nothing could be simpler. 'What you belive in" could be anything, just pick any random topic and rant. Say you believe that the neighbors cat is plotting a political takeover, say that you belive that the Moon doesn't exist and that everone who says there is is part of a bizare cult called "Lunarism". You have complete freedom here man, and 500 words is nothing, Hell if you get into the flow of things you'll probably end up writing closer to 3,000 words - it's what I do.

If you're still stuck for ideas, Hell I'll write it for you. It'll take me five minutes and will be complete genius.

God damn man, could there be an easier topic ever? 500 words on your opinion on life.

People are good, people are bad, there is a god, there is no god, there is no certainty of a god, there is evidence of design...ect.

How can you not get a few paragraphs on that?

If u want to get a good mark then write about "your morals" or the morals you know your teacher would like to hear from you haha

Bollocks to that, don't write what you think your teacher wants you to write; write what you want to write. You'll get good marks as long as your argument is sound and your writing is good.

heh, idk what kind of a mark i will get if I write about Lunarism...

I've been running the idea of, "I believe in living spontaneously" because then I can talk about the values of life and how people waste it and the people I've met in my adventures and how they inspired me...

Actually, now that I type the above, it seems like a pretty solid topic, might be somewhat interesting also...

It's a nice vague one too, you can go off on tangents while still remaining on topic. Go for it.

"It is better to regret something you did do than to regret something you did not do."

I believe in the paranormal. Aliens exist. I was abducted at age 13 and have had a strong resentment for my parents ever since. I blame them, personally for not better protecting me from aliens.

I'd have so much fun with a "I believe in" topic.

this is what came out

GodFather's Paper wrote:

I believe in being spontaneous. I love nothing more than starting off the day with no plans whatsoever, and then going to bed at the end of the day with my body exhausted and my mind swelling with stories to tell. Sometimes you just have to take that risk, sometimes you need to step out of the zone that you feel comfortable in before things get interesting. I can’t recount how many times I have gone out on a whim and came out on top. Actually when you try something you’ve never tried, or you do something you wouldn’t normally do, you always come out on top. For you see, there is that famous line, “At least you tried”. Because you did try, you learned something or gained something simply because it worked out, or it didn’t.

I owe many things to being spontaneous. For one, last year I was invited to a girls birthday party, I was told I wouldn’t know anyone there, so I wasn’t sure about it at first, but then I just went for it. The girl that turned 16 that day is now my girlfriend of 6 months. Currently, I owe my happiness with her to being spontaneous and just going for it. Another thing that I owe being spontaneous for is my SCUBA certification, and a few life lessons: When I was thirteen, four days before my flight left for Mexico, my Dad asked me if I wanted to get SCUBA certified. At first I wasn’t sure, but I figured, “What the heck, what is there to lose?” I ended up becoming a fully certified Open Water Scuba Diver (A feat that is usually accomplished in 2-3 weeks) without skimping on any training. Today I hold my Master Scuba Diver certification (The highest possible certification for a person under the age of 18 with the next tiers being professional). As of today, I have dove Belize, Maui, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, French Polynesia (Tahiti),  Mexico, St. Kitts & Nevis, Saba, St. Bart’s & St. Martin. And in my diving escapades I have met many people who have influenced my life greatly. The thing is… When you go to exotic, faraway places, you tend to meet very interesting people. The people that you meet are normal people, such as yourself and the only difference is that their job is what you dream of being able to pay for. You ask questions like, “How did you get here” and the answers are usually something along the lines of, “Well, I hated my job, and I wanted to do this, so I quit my job, cold turkey, and moved here and now I’m doing this.” The people that I have met thanks to my certification have taught me valuable life lessons, mainly: If you want something, go after it, nothing is impossible. If you have a passion for it, sooner or later you will be able to make a living from it.
Life is one big party. Take risks, meet new people, and try new things. You can’t lose. Besides, life is one big domino effect; you may not know how things will turn out, but sometimes you need to just ride the ripple of your actions into the wave that is your life’s accomplishments.
It's only the rough draft...

I think the greatest thing I ever did for any English class was the time I put off righting 25 pages of journal entries until a day or two before it was due.

I had to one page each over and over again. Content wasn't that important so long as I filled a page with coherent writing... I wrote on how worthless yellow skittles are, on why vending machines are broken so often, on favorite bands... eventually it came down to writing a few pages on having writers block.

Really taught me best way to write is to just sit the fuck down and do it. Clean it up afterwords start by just putting ideas on the page.

Use the assignment as an opportunity to lay out your new totalitarian manifesto. It is after all, what you believe it, amirite?
