Do you subscribe/listen to podcasts?

So were doing a whole section in English about Podcasting, the whole school system is into it, our school even has its own Podcast, and in computer class last year we spent like 2 months in Podcasting...

But I don't know one person who subscribes to them, its one of those, "Who the fuck cares?" things...

So do you subscribe or listen to them frequently? Post about it...

(Personally I think its the biggest waste of time in school, ever.)

I mean my English teacher talks about them like they are the way of the future, and if we Podcast then someone will listen to us (yeah fucking right.)

Nah, not really. I honestly don't have the time to sit there and listen to someone talk about BS. I mean, I suppose if it was entertaining like a comedian or whatever, then maybe. But ... yea. I personally prefer to read. Similar thing to audio books. If you have two working eyes, what the hell do you need your ears for? Another sign of laziness.

i used to listen to a Lost podcast but then it died/I would just watch the show instead of doing both. I also listened to some others but they were boring. This was when they were just coming out, I thought it'd be cool to check them out.

I find video podcasts very useful if you're trying to learn something like Photoshop or other computer programs. It's a shame Revision 3 had to stop doing podcasts with Burt Monroy

Edit I just revisited revisoin3.com and Bert Monroy (Pixel Perfect Podcast) is still doing podcasts. Guess he lowered his hourly rate so revision could afford him

They're not particularly interesting, I find, and either unfunny or irrelavent. Most seem to be aimed at middle-age adults (my parents basically), I can't seem to find any that aren't pointless. However, the language learning ones do look interesting - I downloaded 3 of them for mah new iPod (learn Russian, Japanese and Arabic)... and they're kinda hard as a way of learning, lol.

The style of podcasts you talk about, which is basically an easy way for any idiot to get their own personal soapbox to talk crap from, is probably one of the things holding them back. Those sort of things aren't "the way of the future", they're pretentious and retarded.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. the problem with the radio here in Dallas is that Clear Channel owns most of the stations.. which is like the McDonald's in a way of music
