I've been using Windows 7 for about a month on the following rig:
ASUS A8V Deluxe
Athlon 64 3500+
NV 6800 Ultra 256AGP
4x512MB DDR400
SB Audigy 2 ZS Gamer
2x74GB Raptor (RAID0)
250GB WD
1TB WD
* I had to dig out my old ASUS driver CD to get the right drivers for the two SATA pairs. I know it isn't really MS's fault, but I hope they bundle more drivers in the retail version.
* Basic video codecs still suck. I have over 1000 titles in my DVD library, and even after 'Windows 7 codec pack' downloads, every now and then I encounter huge interlacing issues that require me to jump to another DVD application (with disc settings memory) and dump about 30 minutes into codec tweaking to fix. I'm not sure if I should blame some of it on the video card or what, but I've seen it on other computers as well.
* Audio codecs are a bit flaky as well. There's a lot of aiff files I still can't play without a third party application.
* Audio skips and burrs every now and then, be it Windows Media Player or a PC game. Sometimes this causes program operation to halt for a brief instant, sometimes it doesn't. I've already reported it in different application instances, and hope it's addressed before retail, because it makes working on music a real headache.
If it weren't for these, I'd completely prefer W7 over WXPP.
