Machine Gunner Crouch?

Saw the strangest thing on Karkand: This guy was crouched below the wall at a mounted MG and was spraying bullets blind.

Was this an animation bug or can you actually crouch while manning an MG Emplacement?

No way he was dead....the guy was spinning back and forth wildly spraying bullets at anything and everything! You can even see the flame from the barrel and the shell casings dropping....

seen this quite often. its really annoying esp when im sniper, cos i cant give him a headshot. i think he isnt spraying blindly, they can actually see as if they were shooting normally, as i have been killed by one of these 'crouched' people as i lay prone in front of a vodnik, waiting for the head to pop up between the slit. i just saw his hands on the tigger and a few rounds from MG killed me. its a glitch i think, the gunners arent aware that theyre invincible (unless someone kills them from behind/above). its unfortunate..probably the most annoying glitch i encounter because i see it everyday i play BF2

I get that alot with the vodnik's and you can't kill them with a headshot even though it may only be you that can't see his head!! SO ANNOYING!!

You can crouch while on the MG but I don't think you can fire it while crouched. I will try later.

No thats a glitch. It happened after 1.2 I believe. Thats when I started seeing it. Though you CAN do that if your crouching in the MG. But when your firing and it looks like your crouching, its a glitch.
