Except for the toxic fumes they produce, sure.
Aside from Lithium batteries, there just isn't enough material to cause any dangerous levels of fumes in electronics. Most stuff is really small. A capacitor the size of your fingernail isn't gonna kill you if it so vaporized completely.
what if u eat it?
You die a horrible death.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Well you said electronics, you didn't specify. If your PSU fries and lights on fire or starts smoking, that shit is very toxic.

But a router? No, not really a hazard. I don't think you could start a fire with the 5-12DCV they run off if you tried.

there are two big capacitors in a PSU. If they vent, they let out a small puff of smoke, not much more. No matter what, that crap mainly smells bad, it isn't all that toxic.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Yeah, to be honest, I'd be more worried about the walwart that's plugged into your wall.

omg.  so the worst thing that could happen from your router is aliens could come into your room and kill you with their acid spit.  thats just great.

Nah, that's what firewalls are preventing.

Umm i fried a dell PSU in my room once, filled the room with white smoke. Little bit more than a small puff of smoke.

No dude, I'm talking about fire. Electrical fires are very toxic. And don't tell me a PSU can't catch fire, they certainly can. In fact, my buddies shitty Compaq PSU once lit on fire.

*sigh*

ALL electrical equipment comes with a risk of fire.

It may be a very very unlikely risk, but it's there none the less.

Most electrical fires aren't sudden spark-ignitions - they slow burn - a small fault will lead to arcing, arcing leads to heat, said heat slowly builds, usually in plastic-coating wiring, to the point where the plastic reaches flash point - then you get a small, localised flame, that has access to all the fuel it wants (the plastic)...

Its probably more likely you die in car accident than your router burns down your house so.... No worries!

edit: I have personally had 3 PSUs blow up and one CRT smoke the crap out of me... no flames tho.

edit2: oh and one mobo fried, one gfx card died after something short-circuited in it and so...
