Wouldn't surprise me. There has to be another planet like Earth out there. Space is too large for there not to be.

Drake equation
https://upload.wikimedia.org/math/8/4/7/847914dec26cc45ac2957da0054683de.png

where:

    N is the number of civilizations in our galaxy with which communication might be possible;

and

R* is the average rate of star formation in our galaxy
fp is the fraction of those stars that have planets
ne is the average number of planets that can potentially support life per star that has planets
fℓ is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop life at some point
fi is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop intelligent life
fc is the fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of their existence into space
L is the length of time such civilizations release detectable signals into space.

Roles are reversing...

In the beginning religion ruled the land and science was the one would had to hide.

Now its turning around to were religion will be the one in hiding.

Up until the last decade we hadn't found any outside of our own solar system.

About god damn time.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Probably because our methods for finding planets didn't exist.  I remember watch/reading/hearing somewhere that one way is detecting the wobble of a star.

Billions of Earths? That's over a certain number that Vegeta isn't too fond of.

Correct (Gravitational tug). There is also the transit method, but the observer has to be on the same plane.

blademaster is probably referring to the fact we don't have a permanent home off of this planet.

And just imagine how many life-supporting planets there are in the universe, let alone our puny little galaxy.  and then there's the multiverse.  and space is always expanding.  i'm sure there's an infinite number of life-supporting planets out there.
