A documentary about Ivan Milat was on TV last night. What a douche that guy was. A ton of evidence around his house and still the idiot denies that he killed them.

He's easily one of Australians most high profile serial killers (The other being Martin Bryant: Port Arthur Massacre) and is suspected of many more murders but no incriminating evidence was ever found.

Is their any point to this thread?

What's the point of serving 7 consecutive life sentences? I reckon he should actually be kept in prison for 700 years, with the doctors giving him longevity treatment to make sure he survives for that long.

Any life sentence above 2 is kinda like serving one life sentence then getting the death penalty.

There's still the strong belief that his brothers and maybe others in his family were involved. He would have had to overpower couples in some situations, and the deceased has clothing, tents, etc found at his mothers and brothers house. They should all have been convicted.

In the documentary the prosecutor, I think, said that he suspected that one of his sisters was in on it since they were very close. One of the brothers actually was glad he was put away while the rest were backing him up saying he could never have done such things. He told that they had played cowboys and indians as kids and shot at eachother with bb-guns. Our anti-hero here managed to shoot his brother in the forehead as he got up from behind his hideout. At that point did their father take the guns away from them.

Yeah that's a pretty well known story here, apparently the dad went ballistic after it happened. But Ivan had to have had help from someone imo, to get away with it for so long. It was all carefully planned and thought out, by most accounts he was simply too dumb to have been able to do what happened alone.

I'm not sure how in-depth your doco was, but did it mention how the victims died? Some were shot with 6 rounds into the head after they had been stabbed in the stomach and bled to death, iirc.

Really disturbing that someone could do such a thing.

My thoughts exactly, too dumb guy. The show had quite a lot of police material and quite graphic re-enacted stuff. It was quite a precise program on how he did things and to whom. A pathologist showed some spines and whatnot.
