Yep, Rome is actually very historically accurate for a non documentary. In fact we've been told to get it simply for the excuse of revision as it is a good source on the build up to the civil war and the events afterwards. Even if it does gloss over some relatively minor facts.AussieReaper wrote:

Both series one and two were incredible. I've got them on DVD. It does take liberties with a number of historical accounts, but the telling of the every day life of a soldier, farmer, etc is brilliant. And the characterisation was well done also.
I thought Octavians mother was the most obtrusive when it came to the real history, but it was easy enough to put out of your mind, cause she was played so well.Noobeater wrote:
