In addition to the cruelty charge, Cabrera-Garibay was charged with practicing veterinary medicine without a license. Cabrera-Garibay is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center on $22,400 bond.

Not the first time I've heard of someone doing that tbh.
A lot of owners have that done to their dogs in order for them to look "better". Many Doberman owners, for example. However, some real cheap ass nutjobs don't feel like paying the fee and attempt to do it themselves, putting the dog through excruciating pain.
Volunteering at the SPCA teaches you a lot of shit about how inhumane people can be.

It's not a nice thing to do, no. Dogs don't have much feeling in their ears (as in the flaps), so this sounds a lot worse than it is. Same goes for cutting the tail off hunting dogs before it was illegalized.CrazeD wrote:

Dogs have more nerve endings in their ears than you and I. They are very sensitive. However when a vet puts them under general anesthesia it can greatly ease the pain of cropping. I'm not sold on the supposed benefits of though. I had a boxer that never has his ears cropped. He never had a single ear problem. I think the reasons behind it are 90% owner ego. + Vet's make money off of misinformation.Freezer7Pro wrote:

Meh, it read like he wanted the dogs ears clipped and didn't feel like paying a legit vet to do it. That's the most logical charge. I'm not arguing that the man is a dipshit, but I've seen dogs' tails & ears clipped for cosmetic and medical reasons. It's usually done very early in the puppy stage.AussieReaper wrote:
