I downloaded an movie in .mkv, then converted it to .avi and edited it in Sony Vegas(I was making a clip for youtube). After I was done,I saved it,but it has 9,5GB(it's 9,5 minutes long)probably due to high bitrate(around 1400).Is there a way to lower the bitrate, therefore the file size so I can normally upload it to youtube. And what would be an optimal bitrate(good quality,no lag, acceptable file size)?

There is.

Probably not the best forum to ask in...

I would suggest lowering the resolution of the video.

I'm pretty sure you can change bitrate and file type all with Super Converter.

This is my favorite for video compression. You can change audio/video bitrates to whatever you want. You can set the target file size and it will encode to try to meet that. Supports mulitple pass runs so you can get the best compression/quality ratio. and more
