Well I just sold my 8800GTX for nice profit and I started gaming the more demanding games again...so...

I'm looking for new graphics card/s in 500€ price range.

Only problem is: There are so many possible choices right now that I find it hard to decide.

HD 4870 X2
HD 4870 512 MB CF
HD 4870 1GB CF
GTX 260 CORE 216 SLi
GTX 260 55nm SLi
GTX 295

combined with many possible brand choises: XFX, EVGA, ASUS preferred.

suggestions?

I, personally would get this if I needed a(or two) GFX card:

You seem to go through more GPUs than I do ...

Since you have a mobo that does both CF and SLI I really don't see a reason to get a dual-gpu cards. They always have a problem with running too hot and too loud.

My choice would be a GTX260 55nm SLI. Nice OCability, run pretty cool and quiet. Depending on than the games it should be slightly faster than ATI

Mine too.

As for brand - I'd go for EVGA or Zotac (10 and 5 year warranties respectively), both make high quality, high clocked cards - with quality long term support to back them up. Had bad experiences with XFX recently - had two of their cards die on me at the same time (2 weeks out of warranty - has taken ages to convince them to RMA one of them). Had a previous bad experience with Asus taking more than a year to RMA a card before too.

whats the fucking point of buying a new card every week? unless youre playing crysis maxed on huge resolutions, theyre all the fucking same. its retarded to buy every single card that comes out.

He isn't in America.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Just a quick correction: All EVGA cards with ending part numbers A1, -A2, -A3, -A4, -AR, -AX, -CR, -CX, -DX, -FR, -FX, -SG, -SX have lifetime warranties. Not 10 years. Everything else, Especially -TR (Which Newegg is carrying right now) have 2 year warranties. Registration is required.

I'd probably go with these:

For some the red panel side looks good for others it doesn't. Just matters if you care lol.

Those EVGAs come with price premium tho. Stock EVGA costs over 10€ / card vs OC'ed XFX.

Why not go for a nice single GTX 285?

Should be good enough to handle everything. Focus on overclocking it and keeping it cool, then add another if you want more performance.

Whats the point in lifetime warranty for a GFX card? Isn't 10 years more than enough?

GTX 285 is very overhyped and priced card. Its basically a GTX 280 w/ 100€ higher price. if I was looking for that price range, I would rather get HD 4870 X2...

Panzer, can you start buying GFX cards for members of BF2s?  Not everyone gets a 4870.

GTX 260 55nm SLi is the way to go. Basically the same things max said, when you OC this card it will be . My friend just OCed his a couple weeks ago, and it is running wonderfully.
EDIT: Also, in the way of brands, XFX has always been true to me, but my friend has EVGA.

Hehe, I seen it coming, Panzer:) I told ya you'd upgrade it You should definitely get an Evga one though,(everyone says the 260 55nm so may aswell go with that) with their Step Up program or whatever it's called. You'll probably upgrade before the 90 days??? I think it is:) Upgrade back to a 295:P
