But does anyone on here like opera? Any by that I mean the music, not the browser. I can't say I ever liked it, however I recently heard a recording of Pavarotti singing 'Nessun Dorma' and loved it. Does anyone know any similar sounding songs that I might like, based on that?

Here's a really shitty YouTube quality recording of it:

I'm not a great fan of classic/opera although my late father was a big fan. Some classics can be very mellow, really easy listening.

Not as bad as rap, but not exciting enough for me. Very skilled musicians, though.

I like certain operas if understand some of the story ahead of time. I also don't lump opera in with classical music, which I do like more.

Michael Crawford's another one. Not your typical opera singer but he does an awesome job of Andrew Lloyd Webber's music.

Strauss, good to have a balance of 'em.

There seem to be a lot of opera questions on Jeopardy though. I plan to get more into it when I'm older.

Nessum Dorma first came to light when it was used as the BBC's theme music to any coverage they showed of The 1990 Football World Cup (Italia 90) and my Mums dog would sit up and sing from arf way through the song.  Only that song, weird.
