Sony MDX80s, I think are the phones that I have. Affordable and they sound beautiful and keep the sound out.

Shure's are awsm. The cheapest pair are about £54 (SE110). I have those and they've got great sound. Only problem I have with them is they lack a bit in bass.

Ordered a pair of shure SE110's on Friday, dispatched on monday, should be here tomorrow
My Shure 530's are the sexiest earphones I have ever owned. When they break, I shall definitely go through the hassle to get Shure's customer care policy to reissue another pair. Absolutely sublime, the best listening experience I've had on any medium; they work awesomely with my iPod, my laptop, my hi-fi etc.JoshP wrote:

Yeah, nice pair of earphones, but slightly pointless for an iPod... Just because you can't enjoy the perfect sound quality of FLAC on them. If you could, then they would be even more epic.Uzique wrote:

(inb4 freezer/another fgt says about the sound quality of the iPod, that's not the point, the point is that it plays lossless music)
@ Uzique, they look nice
When I have the money i'm going to get some really high end earphones, unfortunately I'm skint right now and can only afford the cheapest shures
Also, are you banned from what.cd?

The Shure's are great earphones, and I don't only use them with my iPod. There's an upper-end limit to digital music, full-stop. I just prefer to have earphones that can easily reach that limit and still have some oomph left to spare. Of course I don't recommend buying those earphones just for your iPod... they cost more than an iPod, it would be pointless expense.

I wanted to buy shure but I compared the cost to what I paid for the touch and considering I didn't buy the touch for sonic perfection I couldn't justify the cost. I'm incredibly impressed with the cx300 tho, exactly what I wanted and expected audio wise.
Do want some expensive cans for home tho!

I have the E2Cs, MSRP $100, I got them for $60. Cheap man's version. They're amazing though. Sooo nice. Sound isolation is great; I use them as earplugs all the time. And when you learn to fit them into your ear properly (it's a little awkward at first), you'll experience music in a whole new way.
Wow, I sound like a sales rep.
