Some AV software have link scanners which could fuck up your Internet speed. Check that.

Time Warner in San Diego said that their DNS servers have been having problems the last 2 weeks...yesterday was the worst.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the DNS security issues some hackers have been exploiting.

Yesterday my web browser(Firefox) was going very slow for me but everything else(downloads, games etc.) ran normally.

That's what I do, after being on for long periods of time (more than a couple months) it seems to fuck up my internet, like pages won't load or load very slowly. yet everything else is normal (msn,xfire,etc.)
