I could be being very very dense, but is there a quick shortcut built into windows to go straight to desktop with everything minimising? One using only the keyboard?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. i used to have a "shortcut to desktop" link on the task manager that would do what (windows button + M) does but it disappeared.

how would i make a new one?

after Windows + M, you can do Windows + Shift + M to bring everything back again.

I prefer Windows + D though.

I was wondering about this also like Kimmy here, I deleted my little 'show desktop' icon accidentally from my quick launch, is there somewhere I can go to copy a new one to quick launch?

Pressin Win + D ain't hard, and i'll prob do it, but sometimes when i have my hand on the mouse, and out of habit, i tend to reach for the button on my quick launch
