That's the coat of arms though. Most colleges in the US have a coat of arms or a seal, as well as a logo used for their athletic teams and apparel and shit.Uzique wrote:

Interesting. So a school goes by the colors (e.g., idk, the "Oxford Blues")?Uzique wrote:
We don't really have anything as tacky as 'mascots', Hurri. Some of our sporting teams have their own society-logos/uniforms and whatnot, but generally the colleges are colour-coded more than logo-based. Some quick Googling around helped me find this though, haha, I wish I knew someone on this boating team
Oxford is divided into tons of colleges, each one has its own coat of arms, history, colours, academic structure etc. Oxford blue is an actual colour and generally represents the entire institution as a whole, normally set against the rival blue colour of Cambridge. I think Cambridge use dark greens for their hoodies and clothing though, from what I've seen of friends/acquaintances there... but I digress.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

My college is black and white, imaginative, I know. Funnily enough there's also a similarly-named college again at the age-old rival, Cambridge. They get pink. This is 100% the reason why I chose to go to the Uni that I did; black/white versus pink. No contest.
