So I am using a Logitech USB Gaming headset (dunno what model is that so heres a pic)

Thing is, it seem to work fine when I go to Control Panel>Sound, or use Speech recognition, but does not work in a game (project reality)
Ingame, when pressing B i can see the green mic indicator at bottom right, though other players say they do not hear me.
Same with MSN, so I guess the problem is not concentrated.

Thanks in advance.

I would think it's that those programs aren't being pointed to the right sound input.

Check MSN's settings, do the Wizard thing. As for BF2, I can only suggest the same. I think the wizard is in the directory.

BF2 voip system seems to hate USB Mics. First make sure you have set as the Default Device in Control Panel > Sounds. Then, start up the game, go to Options > Audio and try

I would like you to lower the mic threshold to under 5% to see if that helps.
Also, I know with me the out of game setup app crashes, the in game tester wont pick up my mic at all, and when I'm in game I don't see the mic symbol when I talk. But, everyone can hear me so it don't matter much.

I don't have MSN so I can't help you there, but try looking around in Options, Settings, or what ever it's call.

My nephew had this problem with a USB headset.

What he would do is have his headset plugged in, start up BF2 - Alt-tab out and Alt-tab back in. It looks like the same headset as well, there is a circular volume control in-line yes? It glows BLUE?

Go to your sound panel by clicking the speaker icon in the taskbar, then go to options>properties and in the drop down menu there should be two selections if your USB headset is plugged in there should be "Realtek/Soundmax/Sigma-tel" or whatever brand you got and "USB Audio", select USB Audio then start up BF2 and make sure audio settings are set to SOFTWARE render.

If you dont see USB Audio in your sound control panel, go to Control Panel>System>Hardware>Devices>Sound> and see if you see USB Audio, check its properties and there should be a "Enable/Disable" option. Adjust accordingly.

Best I can help.

Click on the sound icon in the taskbar, go to recording controls, and check that your mic is selected as the input device

Also go and see if it's the default input in control panel, sound

BF2 has an option to mute or unmute mic, sometimes it mutes it when you go ingame so play with the BF2 audio settings

Hmm, okay if you have a soundcard then you would need regular 3.5mm jacks, but this headset is USB which doesn't plug into the soundcard.

Are you sure BF2 is set to render audio as software? BF2>Options>Audio - Renderer = Software...

...thats the only problem I can see happening, as your headset works with other programs. Also it could just be a problem with Project Reality and USB devices?

And sorry for my original post it was late and I was really tired, even I could barely understand what I was trying to say LOL
