Arabic sub titles won't work on vlc.

I'm trying to watch a movie on my computer and here is what comes on the screen instead of Arabic subtitles:

*The video is in .avi format and the subtitles are in .srt format.
*The video and subtitle both have the same file name so that is not the issue
*Languages like English/German work.

Why the hell would you want Arabic subtitles anyway?

My guess is you don't have the correct font installed...

Trying to improve my reading in Arabic by watching movies with Arabic subtitles. I have yet to read Arabic(not including names of places) in over 2 years.

Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Install Files for Complex Script and left-to-right languages > insert windows cd > install Arabic language
