@ father, you should petition your IT department to ease up on the firewall restrictions. if you get enough support from your friends, they might be able to help you out. just be polite, and try to find out why exactly they have put these rules in place to begin with.

Yeah i asked my SU rep (Students Union), and he said he'll try and get Uni clarification on the matter. It's not such a problem anymore, i havn't got too long left in this year where i'll be on campus. But fuck me it's pissed me off!
