I was given an ATI 4870 x2. It installed and plays correctly and smoothly. But for some odd reason my computer only reads 1 gb of the 2 gigs it claims to have.

And under the Control Center it says that I have a disabled adapter which would explain the missing gig.

But under the Device Manager it says that both of the adapters are enabled and are working.

I'm aware that 2 gigs are overkill for a setup like mine running at 1600 x 1200, but I feel slightly cheated out of a gig .

Do I have to plug in another monitor, or can I use a both of those gigs on one?

I have an MSI P45 motherboard supporting crossfire.

The VRAM is mirrored, it only uses 1GB.

run 3DMark06 and post the score here.

edit: that is if u are thinking it may be running on single GPU. 1GB vram is right, it is mirrored.

That, or, just use GPUz and it will tell you if it's using crossfire or not.
