BF2S Forums I want to get this game...

1) Take a look at this.
2) You have to get promoted to get the unlocks like the M95 and the L96A1. (It's easy to get promoted in the early ranks.)
3) I can't say for sure that they will give you the code back if you register. I would write it down somewhere you know it won't get lost or put it in a text document (like I do).

6) As long as we keep playing it.
7) Yes, I enjoy BF2 and I'm not in a clan. ( The in-game squads really help with that. )
8) No. Sorry EA wants your money. BUT, if you have a friend that has BF:SF and/or BF:EF you CAN get the unlocks if they sign in with your name in BF:SF and/or BF:EF.
9) You realy don't need a strategy but, mine is that I kill the enemy before they kill me...

1. In regular BF2, Every army's various kits get a variety of default weapons. You get a set of unlocks each time your rank increases (according to your global score, if you play on ranked servers). You are allowed to use the unlocks to access tiers of weapons, that will be available for use regardless of the army you're playing. Check out http://wiki.bf2s.com/weapons for weapons details.

2. You get the L96A1 by first unlocking the M95 rifle. Extra unlocks are available through Special Forces. You can access these without owning SF by playing a round with your account on a friend's computer with the expansion.

3. You can use your gamespy or fileplanet ID for the game.

4. Yes. Although if you and your brother play on the same account, you'll rack up unlocks more quickly.

5. There are usually around 3000 ranked servers up at any given time.

6. The new Battlefield is set in 2142, and is due out very soon. With the early release date, not many people expect much improvement in graphics, and not alot of people I've talked with are interested in futuristic BF combat.

7. You should. I do.

8. You're really going to need to at least have a match of SF under your name to unlock all the weapons by the time you hit 50,000 global points.

9. Strategies vary. You can just lonewolf it and frag people for fun, or you can join a squad and use your particular kit to the best of its abilities. You'll work out what's best for you.

The expansion pack (Special Forces) will give you the new weapons. Euro Force is the new booster pack but it will not give you access to all the weapons.

Confusing? Yes. But at least BF2 has less expansion/booster packs than does The Sims... for now :p
