trying to decide which one to get. i have looked at kimber, s&w, and springfield. the kimber i want is 1100. the sw is 850. the springfield is 650. (all new)

i rarely shoot, so i dont really think its worth it for me to get the kimber. what are your thoughts?

All depends. Kimber and Wilson Combat are all pretty much target ready out of the box. But for the recreational shooting a standard Springfield or Colt will do fine.

i dont plan on carrying everywhere, but i am going to get a ccw permit pretty soon. that kimber cdp is very sexy, but i really dont feel like spending 1200 bucks on a pistol

its 550 plus all the hassle of having it shipped to a dealer. it was 480 at the store a couple weeks ago. think im just gonna wait it out

and its out of stock like 90% of the guns on that site

Shot a Springfield Operator(I think) some time ago. Really nice 1911, super expensive though. Not to familiar with Kimber. Have a few Colts here. You really can't beat anything as manly as a 1911.

My little bro (1.5 years difference) has one. Its . Btw, if you do get it, ours eats pretty much anything. You don't have to use the high performance stuff they recommend.

i think i'm going to go with the kimber because i like the shorter barrel, but i'm still very open to suggestions
