Well my girlfriend has the flu and I do not want to get it. I live in a very small apartment and she is in the bedroom but I think I might be getting it. Is there anyway that I can avoid it? I know staying away doesnt work will. If I take some flu medicine or tylenol well it help me not get the flu?
According to commercials, a glass of Florida orange juice helps avoid it.
Flu medicine and Tylenol only help if you've already contracted the flu. Cross your fingers and pray to Vishnu!
Lots of vitamin C helps. But if you're around her a lot you will probably get it.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
If it´s really the flu you could have gotten a flu shot, but guess it´s to late for that now.
If it´s just a cold, well bad luck, no cure yet. Vitamin C, proper hygiene and you may have a chance of avoiding it.

Take enough Ibuprofen until you can't tell whether you have it or not. <3 that shit.
Now way to avoid it, unless you want to be a real dick and get a forensics face mask. But its probably too late by now, enjoy your flu in a few days.
Vitamin C does help, and orange juice tastes nice /captain obvious.

I already read your link, it was interesting. Though they did find that the person given an 8g dosage of vitamin C did have a decreased illness duration. Although that could well just be coincidence, either way you cannot rule out the possible effects of a LARGE dose of vitamin C.Pochsy wrote:

To quote from the summary of the article
"This review is restricted to placebo-controlled trials testing at least 0.2 g per day of vitamin C. Thirty trials involving 11,350 participants suggest that regular ingestion of vitamin C has no effect on common cold incidence in the ordinary population. It reduced the duration and severity of common cold symptoms slightly, although the magnitude of the effect was so small its clinical usefulness is doubtful. Nevertheless, in six trials with participants exposed to short periods of extreme physical or cold stress or both (including marathon runners and skiers) vitamin C reduced the common cold risk by half."

Loads of contradictory information comes out in the news all of the time. One minute eggs are bad for your cholseterol levels, the next they are good. I choose what to believe through my own experience, and in my experience vitamin C helps prevent colds and flu.

just catch it and take fuckloads of solpadol and float around on a happy sniffy cloud for a week.
If you live in a small apartment with her and most likely share the same bed, it's already too late.
