yeah, it was new in box.
damn. the only springfield they had was the milspec one. it was 600. i like the trigger on yours a lot more. i wish i could just buy a damn gun online lol
I got that one at a gunshow from a vendor that I regularly do business with. He gives me a pretty good deal. I think the retail on that Loaded is $750 or $800.phishman420 wrote:

Get a Star motherfucking MEGASTAR check that shit out
Not a 1911, but a Colt DA/SA Double Eagle. These came out and didn't really catch on. They were a bit before their time in many peoples opinion. Great gun if you like 1911 style pistols, but want a double/single action.

Springfield, Kimber, STI (Spartan is a good base-level pistol), or Rock Island Armory (on the cheaper side, but I've heard good reviews), those would be good starting points.
Personally, for a range/carry gun, I would not buy the Springfield GI. The sights are tiny. The Mil-Spec would be better for target shooting, but loses a little of the WWII look. I hear the Sprinfield Loaded models are very nice. Kimbers are nice, but I'm not a huge fan of the Swartz safety (seems like one more thing to go wrong, IMO). That said, I shoot a (pre-series II) Kimber Custom, which I really like.
Gotta love the 1911 design.
