Buddy needs a new computer

He needs a new computer, already built, for between $500-650 USD.
It will be for gaming, his dad the buyer is going towards Dell and im trying my best to talk them out of it. Anyone have some recommendations for the most powerfull rig he can get. www.newegg.com is awesome im looking there and since im pretty out-of-tune with the latest in gaming hardware, i would appreciate some help

what can you tell me about that specific computer and the brand? One review is 3/5 because it came broken, it would look bad if i suggested that, they got it, and had to send it back for a new one because its damaged. But really that looks like a sweet deal, wish it had the option to not come with the keyboard and mouse.

I trust ibuypower, my brothers computer came from ibuypower and it works excellent.

Seriously, Maguire, you really should have opened the case of that computer before you plugged it in. It could have been damaged during shipping or something.

That stuff is horrible, Q9550 + 9800GT for gaming? As said, prebuilt computers are as imbalanced as fuck. He'd get twice as good self-built gaming rig with E8400 + HD4870/260GTX. Seriously. Persuade him to build it.

Haha good news. One last question, i have an Nvidia 7800gt slightly overclocked, how would that radeon do against my 7800? (hopefully also much faster as my card is pretty old)
