Seriously, with that money he could build himself an insane first build.Mitch wrote:

sigh, i know, but he said hes not building it part by part. I've built most of my computer, it wouldnt be that hard. Believe me, if it was me, i would make an insanely decent computer for the price, part by part.FatherTed wrote:

Would he let you build it for him?Mitch wrote:

PS Max drop into the Fah thread if you get a second
Look, here's a comparison between the 4870 and 7800GTX SLi.Mitch wrote:
Haha good news. One last question, i have an Nvidia 7800gt slightly overclocked, how would that radeon do against my 7800? (hopefully also much faster as my card is pretty old)DeathUnlimited wrote:
They aren't even comparable. 4870 is about 50x better in raw power, not to even talk about features.FatherTed wrote:
it's about a zillion times better

I saw one once with a Q6600 and onboard graphics, advertised as a "game eating machine".DeathUnlimited wrote:

Or if that isn't possible, buy some prebuilt and upgrade what is necessary. In many cases getting a cheap'ish prebuilt and upgrading the graphics card already gives far better value for money than a prebuilt with said graphics. They often put a powerful CPU in with weak graphics which makes it almost impossible to find a good prebuilt gaming machine.
Yeah stuff like that, and a computer with celeron 420 and HD4850, for the same price, would destroy it in gaming usage.Finray wrote:
